Welcome to Jon's Mini-Sub Gallery...

Here are some images showing my computer model of the sub. This is not a fully-complete model, but it's getting pretty close. There's a lot of detail I'm not going to bother with on the computer, such as support structure for the modules in the rear compartment, and much of the interior detail. Also, the real sub will have scoops for the thruster tunnels, compartment lids on the top and bottom, and lots of other detail that is easier to build in real life than try to model on a computer program.

The only other real problem with this design is that I don't have an F-16 canopy to take exact measurements from, so the canopy shown is measured from a 1:48 scale F-16 model canopy, which isn't quite accurate enough.

Front Quarter View

Rear Quarter View

This is the newest design. See the Design page for details.

Here's a rear-quarter view.

Side View

Front View

Here's a side view, showing (among other things) the large thruster tunnel openings.

This is a front view, showing the forward visibility for both the pilot and passenger.

Rear View

Top View

Here's a rear view...

...and a top view. As you can imagine, the visibility would be awesome.

Transparent View

In-Water View

Here's a interesting view, with the body shown partly transparent. This shows pretty clearly the layout of the cockpit inner shell, the rear compartment bulkhead, the oxygen tanks (green), the battery box (red), and the thruster motors (light gray) and tunnels. The space between the outer shell and the inner shell (and the bulkhead) will be filled with sprayed-on closed-cell foam. There are also a few bulkheads between the two shells I have not shown.

Finally, here's a shot showing the sub sitting in the water, ready to go :-)
