Welding Accessories

While doing arc welding, there are a number of items that are absolutely required. I would strongly advise anyone not familiar with arc welding to pick up a book on the subject, since there are a number of important safety issues that come up.

Anyway, I bought a helmet ($19.00, OSH), a chipping hammer ($12.00, OSH), a pair of heavy leather welding gloves ($9.00, Home Depot), and a small box of 5/32" 6013 mild steel welding rods ($3.00, OSH).

From my portable welder project, I had my nice rod holder, and I use my jumper cables as welding cables.
