Jon's New Jeep
So, I finally got another Jeep. I sold my old Jeep in Texas
last summer (1998), and then moved back to a little town just
outside Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've been missing having a Jeep
something awful, so when the chance finally arrived I decided the
time was right and bought one.
I'll be updating my main Jeep pages with information about
this new Jeep over the next little while, but for now, here's the
good stuff:
- 1981 CJ-7
- 401 V8 (little more power than my last Jeep)
- Turbo 400 automatic, B&M ratchet shifter
- Full-floating Dana 44 in back, power-lock locker, HD
axles
- Manual Warn hubs on all four wheels
- 3.77 gears
- Dana 300 transfer case
- 4" lift
- 33 x 12.50 Kelly mud tires
- 15 x 10 aluminum wheels
- Warn 9000 lb winch
- Custom rear bumper/tire mount/rack/receiver hitch
- Double-tube front bumper
- A little more chrome than I like...
All in all, pretty fun to drive. I've done some limited
off-roading up near my parents place in Sundre, but nothing
serious yet.
And now, for a few pictures...
